iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini - here is what you need to know

The new iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 13 Pro just released and preorder starting today, September 17th. Here is what you need to know

Apple’s iPhone 13 has officially arrived!

As with the iPhone 12 the entry-level iPhone 13 will come in two versions: the standard model with 6.1-inch and the iPhone 13 Mini with 5.4-inch. The screen is an OLED display with enhanced brightness compared to last year´s model.

For the iPhone 13 Pro shares the same size as the base version with 6.1-inch and the iPhone 13 Pro Max with 6.7-inch.

Design and Processor

The design of the iPhone 13 looks very similar to the redesigned iPhone 12, just with a 20% slimmer Face ID notch for more space on the top of your phone. Apple add the A15 Bionic chip which, according to Apple, is faster and more power-efficient than last year´s A14 Bionic chip and the “fastest CPU in a smartphone” with up to 50% faster than the competition. Apple also says that the graphics are up to 30% faster than its competitors. (We will have speed comparision soon after the release available to verify these claims)


The battery life of the iPhone 13 lineup will also be improved, the iPhone 13 Mini will get 1.5 hours more battery compared to the iPhone 12 Mini. The iPhone 13 will have 2.5 hours more battery life compared to the iPhone 12. The improvements comes from larger batteries, better chip performance and software improvements.

Improved Camera

The camera received a huge update. The camera will be 47% bigger than last year allowing it to capture more light in darker environments. The new wide sensor is a 12-megapixel lens with an f/1.6 aperture. And the new 12-megapixel ultrawide camera features a faster f/2.4 lens with 120-degree field of view. The base iPhone 13 will get the sensor-shift stabilization technology from last year´s premium model the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which will reduce vibrations and keep the camera more stable.

“Photographic profiles” are added for the 13 Pro and Pro Max models, which allow you to customize the look of your photos across all your shots.

Apple also introduced a “cinematic mode” for video that allow to change focus during a video. When recording a video, cinematic mode will automatically shifting focus when people enter the frame or glance away from the camera. But you also will be able to manually change focus or lock the focus on a particular object for better control over your videos.

Available colors

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini will be released in 5 new and exciting colors to match your style, the pink finish, the blue finish, the midnight finish, the starlight finish and the red finish.

The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will be released in 4 different colors, Sierra Blue, Silver, Gold and Graphite.

Storage options

Apple offering 128GB, 256GB and 512GB for both models. The base iPhone 13 will now ship with 128GB instead of previously 64GB storage.

The iPhone 13 Pro is the first iPhone to ship with 1TB of storage as an option, allowing owners to store double the maximum capacity of 512GB on the regular iPhone 13. This was rumored before as Apple already offered 1TB on their iPad.

Price and Release date

The price begins at $829 for the iPhone 13 and $729 for the iPhone 13 Mini.

The iPhone 13 Pro will start from $999, for the 1TB storage option you need to pay $1,499 and $1,599 for the larger iPhone 13 Pro Max with 1TB.

Preorders will start today – Friday September 17th at 5 a.m. PDT, and the release date will be September 24th.
