How does Philips Hue work?

To set up a Bluetooth-Controlled Philips Hue smart lighting system in your home, download the Bluetooth app on your Appstore. Once you install the app, you can follow the simple instructions provided to configure it with your Bluetooth device to start enjoying the functions of your smart lights.
2. A Hub-Controlled Philips Hue Smart Lighting Setup
It is important to mention that a Bluetooth setup does not allow you to utilize all the functions. But a Hub-Controlled setup does. Once you do that, just go to your Appstore and download the app for this. Thereafter, configure the app with the hardware and start benefiting from your setup.
How to set up the Philips Hue Hub (Bridge)?
1. Plug the Hue Hub into a power socket and hook it up to your router via ethernet cable.
2. Proceed once the four lights on the Hub light up.
3. Go to Settings > Hue Bridges > Add Hue Bridge in the Philips Hue app.
4. Follow the setup instructions.
How to set up a Philips Hue smart light bulb?
1. First, make sure the Philips Hue Hub is all set up.
2. Go to Settings > Light setup > Add light.
3. Hit Search or manually add the serial number listed on the bulb.
4. Follow the setup instructions, from which point you can name your light and put it into Rooms.

Philips Hue Lightbulbs
Firstly you need to decide where you want your Philips Hue lightbulbs to go and then check the light sockets for your existing lights. Hue bulbs are like regular lightbulbs, you can easily screw them into pretty much any light fitting or lamp in your home.

White ambience gives you more control over the shade and temperature of your white light with a range betwenn 2200K to 6500K color temperature. This is everything between cold-white, warm-white and imitating the light of the sun.
The last one is the normal white lightbulb with a color temperature of 2700K soft white. You can not change the color temperatures but like every other Hue lightbulb it is still dimmable.
Philips Hue Lightstrips
One of the coolest ways to light up your home with Philips Hue is using its colored Lightstrips. These thin lightstrips can be hidden under kitchen counters, behind couches, or to improve your gaming area.
